You give me fever..

Ugh! I'm sick!

Since yesterday, I had been fighting a fever that just didn't go away. I even missed the Tiffany concert that my boo boo was talking about :(. So today I called in sick from work and rested. Hopefully I'll be OK.

I haven't posted all week and apologize. So let me tell you about my "Chicago Gay Pride". It was fun! I started drinking about 12ish in the afternoon and was plastered at about 7:00 P.M. Don't remember much of it, I started out at Side Track during the parade as we didn't watch any of it. Who needs to be standing outside anyway. The good thing was that it was grey and rainy..so it wasn't sunny and hot at all. Actually at SideTrack, I got the urge to take a nasty shit and I took a good one in their stalls. Good thing was that it wasn't crowded and I was OK. Then we headed to Roscoe's and other places forget. I got to see a few people I hadn't seen in a while so it was fun! So as you may have guessed, I missed the PAT BENATAR concert :(. I was too drunk. I guess I can't multi task under the influence. She'll come back...I know she will. She was here last year too.

Random note, but last night I finally got to see Madonna's "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret", her new documentary behind her 2004 world tour. I figured "Hey, it might actually give you an entertaining and relevant glimpse into her career". WRONG! The whole shit was Madonna preaching about how unhappy she was and how Kabballah changed her....blah blah blah. I don't need to hear this shit, I could turn on the Religious infomercials if I want preaching about self-change and world peace. There was no gay drama with her dancers and no fun mega-bitch attitude from Madonna. It was so boring, no wonder Madonna didn't even bother to release ths to theaters or immediately on DVD.

What else? 4th of July is coming up and I have to work that day, I believe. We'll see.

Eduardo Cruz - Penelope's younger, prettier brother

So reading the catalog for Warner Musica, I came across this Eduardo Cruz guy and didn't think to much of it. I thought he was some cute little Puerto Rican boy.

Then I got a promo copy of it and my boo boo mentioned..."you know who that is??? That's Penelope's brother"!. I can totally see it. Don't get me wrong, I love Penelope as an actress and I think she is cute in a little Chihuahua way..but dayum! Take a look at her brother!

He was born in 1985, so he's 11 years younger than Penelope. The CD itself is nothing special. The music sounds like the "guy with guitar" sound that's currently sweeping the Latino pop world and at times sounds like "RBD" songs. I'm sure that will appeal to people. The record was produced by Aureo Baqueiro after all so what can we expect?
The liner notes though, lol, they are cute! Lotsa cute pictures of this little darling boy. You can hear his CD on iTunes or Amazon.com

P.S.....GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Old queens who desperately try to hold on to youth by dating young guys

Disclaimer:
this is in no way critizicing all men by their age..as I love mature men

You know what I find funny in the gay world? Those nasty old queens in their 40's or above who try to hit on young guys between 20-30. Their reasons? "Guys my age are boring and I get along better with younger guys". Yet the funny thing is....you don't like old guys what the fuck makes you think I do too? I have my youth, beauty and virility, why settle for an old fuck like you?

Like I said, I love mature men...but ones who actually think like an adult and have age wisdom. That makes you sexy. Idiots who fit the description above are nothing more than desperate slags who never matured and still think they're sexy despite all the damage gravity has done to their skin and possibly bodily functions.

Lucia Mendez part 2

Looking through Youtube.com, I found these clips I found interesting

Lucia Mendez may not have the greatest voice, but she can actually carry a tune very well! Look at this popurri (medley) above of "Rancheras", you may be impressed!

This is "Castigame", her pop stuff. I love her look in this video! This album came out in 1986 and it's fantastic! All upbeat 80's pop! Look at this vid and tell me she wasn't hot

Es un alma en pena..

Lucia Mendez - Un Alma En Pena

I've never seen this! This is Lucia's "official" video for "Un alma en pena", which was the unnoficial theme song for her incredible soap opera from 1988 titled "El Extraño Retorno De Diana Salazar". I found this video on youtube. It's so cheesy! The soap was about a woman who was burned at the stake in the 1600's and gets reincarnated in modern times to find her true love. It had lots of special effects, it was entertaining at best.

Enjoy this vid!

Degrassi High!

http://www.hmv.com.au/product/dvd.asp?sku=-990382

Omg! Thanks to my other half, I have seriously gotten hooked to Degrassi (the original series from 1987-1991, not the bootleg but entertaining and charming rehash "Degrassi: Next Generation"). And I was upset that only "Degrassi Junior High" was released on DVD and not "Degrassi High". Until now! HMV Australia has it listed on DVD! Me and my boo boo so ordered both seasons and are anxiously awaiting their arrival! I can't wait! I never saw this show when it was on PBS here in the States, so I don't know what happens to Spike, Joey, Wheels and the rest of them! Well, thanks to the new Degrassi...I know that Wheels got into a car accident and killed some kid. And recently we saw that Joey did something to Caitlin back in the day that broke them up, but my boo boo (bless him) told me to cover my ears so I don't spoil what happens in Degrassi High!

OMG! I am so excited!

I *heart* Grupero music!

Some of you out there might be saying..."who? what?"

Grupero (adj)=Regional Mexican music that blends elements of African rhythms such as the cumbia and popular music arrangements, usually emphasizing on a heavy use of synthesizers and/or organs. The name "Grupero" comes from "Grupo", as this style was popularized in the 1970's mostly by groups who would perform at "bailes".

Hope that definition helps. Ever since I was a little kid, I used to love listening to this style of music. It had incredibly catchy hooks that just devoured my sense of awareness. I remember being 6-9 years old and listening to Los Bukis, Los Yonics, Los Caminantes, Los Mier and countless others and loved it. My own mother hates this style of music and to this day criticizes me for listening to this "awful" music as she calls it. I recall in school people would call me a "brazer" (derrogatory term for Mexicans stemming from "brazero", a field worker). Unfortunately, it looks like this genre has died or is on the verge of doing so, as these groups have all faded away EVEN THOUGH their old catalogue still sells well so obviously people are still interested in this style.

My favourite groups of this genre are Los Yonics, Los Bukis (even though I hate Marco Antonio Solis) and Los Caminantes.

Say what you say but they have some great and catchy songs. Not to mention that they actually had RHYTHM ARRANGEMENTS, not like the crap they pass off for music these days like Duranguense types like Grupo Montez De Durango and Patrulla 81. Oh well. Actually, there are 2 "Grupero" albums that I really love! One is by the trashtastic diva Veronica Castro titled "Romantica y Calculadora"

Veronica's album was on constant repeat on my cassette player when I was a kid! Her awful vocals appealed to me because I could sing along to the songs with ease. The album was produced by Alfonso from "Los Temerarios", one of the few Grupero groups to still record and be relevant. This album was like a gay boi's dream back then. And the other album is by Bibi Gaytán titled "Manzana Verde". This last one isn't entirely Grupero but most of it is. I LOVED it. "Ya No Hay Mas" is wow!

Well, I hope you enjoyed reading about this. In the meantime I leave you with this. It's not the greatest example, but I love this song! This is grupero all the way. Enjoy!

Should I stay or Should I go?

Crap!

Pat Benatar is coming to Chicago on June 25, 2006. I already am on the list to see her at the House of Blues. I have always wanted to see Pat Benatar live, and everytime she's here something happens. What is the circumstance now? It's GAY PRIDE SUNDAY! I love getting drunk on that day with my peeps. I could care less about the parade but the bar hopping and drinking is the shit. I can't do both..go drinking all day and then the concert, or can I? Or should I just go see Pat? I REALLY REALLY like Pat Benatar and I can't miss her. But will she be back? I keep thinking she's going to retire soon, she is 53 you know.

Help!

Breaking up is hard to do..

Boy I've been told...

So Alanis Morissette and Ryan Reynolds broke up :( That sucks..I love Alanis and I thought her and Ryan were both so perfect for one another as they are both Canadian dorks. I'm sure it was Alanis's needy ass that was at fault. She overanalizes EVERYTHING. Pobrecita. I know certain people were ready for this to happen since the beginning...There is soooo much hate for Alanis in people's minds that love Ryan Reynolds. I've heard things like "he can do so much better than that ugly heifer"..."she is so gross!". Granted she's not your typical bimbo...But I think Alanis is really pretty. She looks like a down to earth woman. And like I stated above, she seems like a smart goofball, something I always admire in others and in myself

Oh well..So how are you guys doing today? Today was my first day at work since last week...Joy. Nothing else is going on..Other than the fact that I am super broke til Friday. :(. Tomorrow after midnight my check goes into effect so everything should be ok.

goddamn I'm tired...I'm going to take a nap. Ciao peeps!

Back from moving hell..

Hi guys!

It's been a week, sorry for updates. We were busy moving all week and just now found time to post! It was hell! but thank god its over. Now it's just a matter of unpacking everything away.

So ROCIO JURADO died :(. I love that woman. She was beyond fierce and a real talented diva. She was one of the loudest yet disciplined. 2 Rocio's are gone...we only have Rocio Banquells left.

I go back to work tomorrow, joy. I have been off since last wendesday.

Well folks, that is all I have on my mind for now.
